Body

The Lake Lyell Hydro Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) public exhibition period closed on Tuesday 28 April. The Lake Lyell Hydro team would like to thank the community for its input and the many insightful conversations we had whilst we were out and about engaging with the community during the public exhibition period.

To support the public exhibition period, the Project team hosted a number of events and activities this included:

  • Six pop-ups at a range of locations in the Lithgow region, including Portland, Bowenfels, and Lithgow.
  • We received 29 visitors to our Lithgow Project
  • We hosted four meetings with community representative groups.
  • We responded to several enquiries via phone and email.

During the four-week engagement program, we held over 230 conversations at our pop-ups and with people visiting Project HQ. From these conversations, we recorded 186 individual items of feedback which we will refer to as the Project progresses. We also received a wealth of great feedback during our stakeholder meetings.

What happens next?

  1. Submissions are now being collated by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI).
  2. The Project will respond to submissions via a Submissions Report to DPHI.
  3. DPHI completes its assessment.
  4. The Australian Minister for the Environment and the NSW Minister for Planning determine if the Project is approved.

Whilst the conclusion of the EIS exhibition period marks the end of another critical milestone, we encourage people to continue the conversation with us. Our door is always open. If you would like to connect with us, please feel free to drop in to Project HQ, email or phone us. Details are below.
