Just a quick reminder that EnergyAustralia has lodged an application for modification to an existing development approval with Lithgow City Council.

This modification will allow up to six additional geotechnical boreholes to be drilled at the Lake Lyell project site. These boreholes will provide better information about underground conditions at the Project site and the results of this drilling work will help inform the design.

These works will:

✅ Support the design of the proposed pumped hydro project

✅ Occur within the existing approved footprint

✅ Require almost no vegetation clearing

✅ Have minimal environmental impact

The modification is being assessed through Council’s standard Development Application process, which includes a period of public notification and community consultation.

Community members are invited to view the proposal, provide feedback, and make submissions as part of this process Go here to provide our feedback

Pending Council approval, this work is expected to occur later in the year. Importantly, these additional boreholes do not change the nature or scale of previously approved works.
